How K-pop group BTS made history at 2019 Grammy Awards

“Love Yourself: Tear” was one of five albums nominated in the best recording package category.

The other nominees were “Be the Cowboy” by Mitski, “Masseducation” by St Vincent, “The Offering” by The Chairman and “Well Kept Thing” by Foxhole, with “Masseducation” taking home the prize.

BTS’ album “Love Yourself: Tear” also made K-pop history with its first Grammy nomination.

The group’s first chart-topping album was released last May.

BTS’ latest album, “Love Yourself: Answer”, has been on the main Billboard 200 album list for 23 straight weeks.

It is part of the group’s “Love Yourself” album trilogy and rose from 87 to 77.

BTS played a sold-out concert at the National Stadium in Singapore last month.

The 61st Grammy Awards were hosted by American singer-songwriter Alicia Keys, who is a 15-time Grammy winner.
